Medical Malpractice
Confidential settlement. Anesthesiologist performed a thoracic epidural on a 7 year old patient negligently striking the spinal cord resulting in a spinal cord injury with permanent paralysis.
Confidential Settlement. Anesthesiologist decided to administer epidural to sickle cell patient undergoing a bladder surgery. During surgery the plan was to use lidocaine as the anesthetic agent. During the surgery, the medical providers switched from lidocaine to lidocaine with epinephrine because they ran out of pure lidocaine. The epinephrine caused a vaso-constriction and reduction in blood flow to the spinal cord. The reduced blood flow caused a spinal cord infarction with permanent spinal cord injury. This case settled after a two week trial and while the jury was deliberating.
Confidential Settlement. A 51 year old man with larynx cancer was negligently administered an excessive amount of steroids. His blood sugar surged, he developed diabetic ketoacidosis and subsequently died.
Confidential settlement. An expecting mother with a fetal gestation of 38 weeks presented to the hospital with a spontaneous rupture of membranes. The fetal heart rate showed a non-reassuring pattern that persisted for a significant time period without resolving. Finally, a Cesarean section was performed but not before the baby developed a devastating brain injury and resulting Cerebral Palsy.
Confidential Settlement. Recovery from hospital for the injury to a woman’s arm by a misplaced IV needle.
We have obtained confidential settlements in a number of obstetrical cases in which viable fetuses died prior to birth as a result of negligent medical care prior to delivery.
Auto
$906,187.00 Verdict. A 44 year old man driving a Ford Ranger was injured in collision with teenage driver who driving at a high rate of speed, lost control of his Dodge Stealth, crossed the median and collided with the on-coming pickup. The driver of the pickup suffered a severe left heel fracture and left knee injury.
Confidential Settlement. Garbage collector stopped his truck on highway to collect trash on his route. Driver of a car collided into rear of truck after crossing hill and driver sustained a severe head injury.
Nursing Home
Confidential settlement. Nursing home resident fell while returning to her bed from bathroom breaking her hip.
